One of Hampshires oldest buildings The Star Hotel on Southampton High Street dates from the 17th Century most likely an earlier Inn of sorts with a direct link to the 'Titanic' as a former Managers Son sailed on the ill fated ship, being one of the lucky few to be rescued

Bombed in German raids in 1940, in 1957 the ruins were preserved with memorials to Merchant Sailors who worshiped at the church and the 549 local residents that perished aboard the 'Titanic' on 15th April 1912

Built in 1918 as one of a planned chain of anti-submarine defenses, sunk off the east side of the Isle-of-Wight in 1920

The LED Light has a range of 12 nautical moles 22 kilometers and sounds a Fog Signal twice with a 2 nautical mile range every 30 seconds

In 2013 due to extensive corrosion making it unsafe to land helicopters Trinity House reduced the hight from 27 meters to 17 meters and gun coated the structure in concrete
