The Early Radio London Fab Forties
Sunday 12th December 1965

The Hermits take a Fab 40 leap from #26 to #13. This song's lyrics confused many, including one lady who was convinced that Herman was singing, "She's a muscular boy – a complete impossibility"!

Music Talk
by Beryl Marsden (pictured, right, in 2011) is heard in a recording from Friday 17th December 1965, when John Edward announced it as "a brand new Radio London climber" assigned to Mike Lennox.

It's possible that John was airing the record prematurely, meaning it was 'brand new' for Sunday 19th, for which date its status as the Marshall's climber is separately verified. At face value, however, the record was Mike Lennox's climber for 12th December 1965 and was held over for a second week on the 19th, still assigned to him.

(The climbers assigned this week to John Edward and Mike Lennox are their first-recorded so far. They both joined the station in November, although the exact date is unknown – Mary)

Climbers:
Are You There With Another Girl Dionne Warwick
I Can't Believe What You Say Val McKenna
My Girl Otis Redding

The climbers in RED have been added as a supplement to Brian Long's original listing, and have kindly been contributed by Gert van der Winden.
The climbers in BLUE are another supplement kindly contributed by Kees Brinkerink with information gained from listening to archive Radio London recordings.
