Chuck shares his 'Last Will and Testament' with Big L listeners

Dateline 8.09am on Friday, 11th August, 1967
Trying to add a touch of humour to a hopeless situation, Chuck Blair drew up a 'Last Will and Testament' which he shared with his loyal
Breakfast Show audience three days before the closedown of Radio London
.
"Time now for my Last Will and Testament of all the things I've just got to leave to people, while they're listening."

I will my Frankie the Fly funeral cards to Tony Brandon...

My teacup to Olive Baker...

My letter-opener to Alan...

My photo of Lady Bird Johnson in a bikini, to Ed Blackwell and Roger Seddon...

My Tony Blackburn photo to Kenny Everett...

My pic of Paul Kay sober, to Godfrey Morrow and Dennis...

My supply of pineapple juice, to Evelyn Austin...

My horrible recipes, to John Pancake...

My authentic Playboy calendar, to Mich...

My record filing system, to Richard Swainson...

My American accent, to Mark Roman

My Ipswich timetable, to Keith Skues...

My Beach Boys collection of albums to myself...

My pronunciation guide to 'NOR-WITCH', to Lorne King...

My star-spangled banana to Mike Lennox.

"That's my Last Will and Testament and I wish I could give you a lot more things, but my undying friendship and love goes to all the audience here on the Breakfast Show."

Mark:
"I say, thanks, old bean!"

Mike:
"Your star-spangled WHAT?"

Many of the above 'beneficiaries' were also included in the farewells on Chuck's final Breakfast Show of August 14th. Jill Smith was Chuck's girlfriend (see links below to pages of memorabilia donated by her family). Trish Perry was his fan club secretary and Dennis would have been Dennis Maitland. He, along with Eddie Blackwell, Des Brown and Roger Seddon were members of the Curzon Street admin and sales team.
