2000

On this page, we share with our listeners some Season's Greetings we've received, plus reactions to the Radio London Christmas Annual 2000

Kontented Keefers!

My Dear Chris & Mary, I had absolutely no idea what you had in mind when you mentioned the Full Monty! My Lord, you must have spent hours putting that all together. It's incredible! You really did a wonderful job what with all the snaps et al. I really cannot thank you enough for all the effort and time you must have spent. Hopefully, some of the other old boys will see it, get jealous, and let you do them. It would really be great to read more about their lives.
Have you had much feedback? Has it been favourable? Has anyone seen it? So many questions, so little time.
Thanks again for everything and have a wonderful Christmas, KEEFERS.

Yes, it was hard work – but fun too – and yes, we have had favourable feedback! We'll also be delighted to hear from any 'jealous old boys'!

From the ever-bold Peter Young

Great Christmas Annual - it must have been a lot of work. I enjoyed the Keefers article very much. Interesting to see him describe the Big L jocks as "slightly left of centre".
Love, 'Backdoor Santa' xxx

Merry Merry to you both. EMP Rosko

Thanks Mary - Happy Christmas to you. Regards, Johnnie Walker

From Steve Young

Dear Mary & Chris,
My very best wishes to you, your family and all of your friends around the world. Thanks for all the time, effort and dedication that you've put into the site, it's well worth it and I'm sure that everyone appreciates it as much as I do. It's just great to connect with so many friends and acquaintances after so many years of "dead air".
All the very best in the coming year. I hope it brings you much happiness and lots of hits on your site. Kindest regards, Steve

From Errol Bruce

May you have all that you wish for this holiday season.

Happy Christmas and a brilliant new year. John & Connie Ross-Barnard

From our extremely helpful supplier of memorabilia, Raoul Verolleman

Thanks for the seasonal greetings. I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I see that you have used some of the stuff I sent you. As to the Johnny/Johnnie Walker matter, I spotted the difference years ago and I always wondered if one of the autographs was a fake but it doesn't seem to be the case.

It really moves me to visit your site nearly every day and find new things. It brings back some wonderful memories and I'm becoming so nostalgic that I have to stop reading sometimes. I keep on telling my wife that my trip to Radio Scotland was the best holiday trip I ever did. She becomes mad when I tell her that; she tells me that my best memory should be our honeymoon. {:-}}}

Keep the good work going and have a nice day, Raoul

Don't worry, Raoul, we both think Big L '97 was much more exciting than our honeymoon!

From Andy Cadier – Caroline's Martin Kayne – in Folkestone

Merry Christmas to all in the Big L listening land.
Yesterday I heard Tony Blackburn on Capital Gold talking to a guy on a phone-in mentioning Caroline and Radio London. I am sure I felt my sitting room floor rise and fall with the gentle swell of the sea.. that's the power of 50kW of undiluted nostalgia!
All the very best, Andy

I've to tell you that I looked at your update. Amazing, the memories of the Christmas days came floating back.
May I wish you and your relatives also all the best for Christmas and a very happy 2001? Let's keep the spirit of the sixties alive on both our internet sites. Hans Knot

From Jonathan at the Pirate Radio Hall of Fame

Fantastic - as Roy Wood once said "I wish it could be Christmas every day...."
Have a fantastic Christmas and all the best for the new year. Love, Jonathan

From Martin van der Ven

From Clint, a man building a super Sixties site!

Mary and Chris,
Very best wishes to you both for Christmas and the New Year. Keep up the hard work, it's worth it – your site just gets better and better! I have uploaded the bulk of the starting config of my sixties site now but need to iron out a few probs still – hope to have sorted it soon – it's only been two years!

From Alan Field

I'll write properly in the new year when we've all got more time, but I just wanted to wish you a merry one, and quickly say how much I've enjoyed the Radio London website over the past year and thanks for everything.
Looking forward to lots more in 2001..... Love, Alan

From Jon Sketchley

Hi Mary,
Thanks for the season's wishes. I hope both you and Chris have a very happy season and may you enjoy the peace of Christmas.
Regards Jon, G4DCE, Carillon Radio Loughborough Engineer, Anorak, etc.

From Jim Temperly in chilly Iowa

A Merry Christmas to you in England. Hope Santa Claus (Father Christmas) has what you wanted in his sack. Boy, it has been snowy and cold here in the midwest of the U.S. Snow, snow and more snow. Added to that are some very frigid temperatures which make it even more miserable. It's only December 16th and according to the calendar, winter doesn't start until the 21st!
Have a happy Christmas and also, a very happy New Year.

From John and Lyn Preston in a decidedly non-chilly Queensland

Hope you have a great Christmas and 2001. Thanks again for the site, love the Christmas stuff!
Stay warm - we will! John and Lyn Preston

From Stephen Chesney

I do want to take this opportunity of thanking you both for your hard and dedicated work on the website. It has given me a lot of pleasure and the means to acquire many hours of recordings of Radio London.
Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year, Stephen

From Wolfgang Buchholz
